If you want to create an invitation fashioned after the Hogwarts acceptance letter that Harry receives in the book, follow these steps.
Step 1. Download Harry Potter Fonts
Here are some free Harry Potter style fonts for personal use. Download and install the version you prefer to use.
Step 2. Write the Invitation Text
Next, use this adaptation of the original text of Harry’s acceptance letter as a birthday party invitations template. Feel free to change text as you wish.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Headmaster: ALBUS DUMBLEDORE (Order of Merlin First Class Grand Sorc. Chf. Warlock Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)
Dear Mr. (or Miss) [Child’s Name]:
We are pleased to inform you that you have been invited to a birthday celebration at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in honor of Head Girl (or Boy) [birthday child’s name here]. Festivities will take place on [party date] from [party start time] to [party end time]. You may wear your wizard robes or dress in Muggle attire. Wands/snacks will be provided.
We await your owl by no later than [RSVP date]. You may also reply by Muggle email to [email address] or phone to [phone number] if you prefer.

Step 4. Put Contents in an Envelope
Put the invitation in a parchment-looking envelope to send by Owl Post. Here’s a template you can print and write in the address details of each invited guest. There are even matching stamps to go with it! (via Pin Image)
Step 5. Secure the Invite and Ticket with a Seal
Then to close the envelopes, use a “wax” seal. This tutorial shows you how to make them from clay. (via Stack and Flats)
Step 6. See it All Come Together
Here’s a detailed post that shows it all coming together from the invitation to the envelope and seal for a pretty authentic look. They include a free editable invitation template as well as cutting file for the envelope if you want one that has fancier edges. (via More than Thursdays)
Step 7. Deliver via Owl Post
Then send the invites off with helium-filled owl balloons by dropping them off at the houses of your invited guests. (via Olive and Gallon)
